East Coast Datacom, Inc., a Florida-based data communications accessory specialist, announces 2-wire, 26Mbps network extender. The VDSL-MUX provides unprecedented speed for network expansion in a campus environment. With the VDSL-MUX installed at each end of an unconditioned 2-wire line, you have instant access to multiple digital services such as LAN internetworking, PBX extensions and video conferencing simultaneously. The unit may also be utilized as a high bandwidth Limited Distance Modem for point-to-point networking.

The VDSL-MUX utilizes a proprietary VDSL chip set for the 2-wire line interface providing secure, error correcting digital data transmissions.

Designed to bridge the gap between LANs and WANs the VDSL-MUX features full duplex rates up to 26 Mbps over standard 2-Wire unconditioned copper lines. The unit simultaneously supports 10 base-T Ethernet, NX64 serial data transmissions and T1 or E1 traffic in a single platform via option cards.

The VDSL-MUX is configured and managed by the user through an RS-232 COM port terminal interface to either a computer/laptop running a terminal emulation program, or a standard ASCII terminal. An imbedded HDLC management channel allows local and remote configuration commands. The unit provides convenient down-line loading of user configurations to a remote VDSL-MUX unit.

The VDSL-MUX list price is $1395.00 US dollars with immediate availability
