East Coast Datacom (ECD), Inc., a Florida-based data communications accessory specialist, announces development of an easy to use GUI Web based Ethernet Traffic Generator. The product supports 10/100/1000Gbe(STG-1G) or 10GbE Traffic Generation(SGT-10G) . The embedded hardware software design allows users to stress test networks prior to deployment or to simulate network attacks.

The product is available in several different hardware configurations and is coupled with custom software. The unit operates from a web browser and the user has no cumbersome software to load prior to use. Product upgrades and custom developed features are administered via the GUI web interface.

The product supports a host of features such as packet type, size and transmission rate. Transport Layer Protocols supported are TCP, UDP, DCCP, SCTP and Application Layer Protocols are DNS, Telnet, VoIP (G.711.1, G.711.2, G.723.1, G.729.2, G.729.3) CSa, CSi and Quake3. The unit supports the generation of traffic flows with real packet content, as obtained in input from pre-captured traffic in pcap format. In order to allow the generation of bidirectional traffic flows, the same pcap trace is used on both the sender and the receiver side. The resulting QOS data parameters (e.g. bitrate, delay, jitter, loss, ...)are then analyzed and the results are prominently displayed or saved for analysis.
